Your Key Card Warranty
Here at Key Card Services we are often asked about the warranty we offer with our Renault key cards. It doesn’t matter what type of key card you purchase from us. All genuine Renault key cards are sold with 12 months warranty. So in short if you have bought a replacement Renault Megane key card or a replacement Renault Laguna key card or maybe a replacement Renault Scenic key card from us you are covered by 12 months warranty.
The terms and conditions of our warranty are very simple. You need to take good care of your key card and therefore mechanical or liquid damage will cancel your warranty. We use an external company to investigate issues which may prevent your key card from working so please be aware that we may not accept your warranty if you breach it’s conditions.
So the boring and serious bit is over and we can share some of our experiences with key cards being returned under warranty. Sometimes it is just a matter of exchanging the battery in your key card and we have had many distressed phone calls from our customers claiming that their Renault Megane key card stopped working as it was not locking the car. A simple solution and advice of exchanging the battery in the key card solved all of them.
The best warranty call we have received so far was from a lady who had her Renault Scenic replacement key card provide by us. She called us 2 or 3 days after the job was done saying that her key card stopped working and that she wants a new one or a refund. Naturally we were surprised to hear that a few days old key card stopped working. We went through all the standard checks with her and due to her answers there wasn’t anything else left to do but to book her in for a visit of one of our teams which was supposed to provide a new key card for her and pick up the faulty one.
Imagine their surprise when they arrived and were given a Renault Megane key card which was chewed up by a dog. The key card was in pieces and therefore, we assume, it was not working properly. The lady was absolutely sure that this was our fault as we have sold her a key card that was too fragile for her dog. As for the dog well it was a Great Dane….
Needles to say that our warranty doesn’t cover the key cards from being eaten by a dog, any dog, or cat or a child, yes we had customers whose kids were munching on their key cards.
Now that we had our laugh we can back to serious issues which is taking a good care of your replacement Renault key card. It is always a good idea to keep your key card separate from your other keys as the metal keys can damage the key card but most likely when attached to your home key your key card is prone to damages by dropping it on the floor or by shutting the door with the key card stuck between the frame of the door and the door itself. The best way of keeping your key card safe is to keep it in a separate pocket in your bag or you can purchase a protective pouch, they are not expensive and will keep you card safe and secure if you drop it on the floor.
If you need any assistance or have any questions about your key card, the key card warranty or about ordering a replacement key card don’t hesitate to call us.
