ECU remap

What is an ECU Remap?

An ECU Remap is a re-flash of the engine management system which installs new software to change the operating parameters of the engine. An ECU Remap will alter parameters including throttle position, Fuel duration, boost pressures, torque limiters, boost limiters, fuel pressure limiters, lambda correction and many more.

Stage One Remapping

ECU remap will optimise the performance of your car, helping to maximise your driving pleasure. Engine tuning, for petrol or diesel engines, will change your driving experience.

For a Turbocharged Diesel or a Turbocharged Petrol engines, with a  Stage One Remap, we can achieve up to 30% more power and torque out of your engine.

After your ECU upgrade to your turbocharged diesel engine, you will enjoy:

  • Increased horsepower

  • Increased torque

  • Better throttle response

  • Smoother power delivery

  • Improved fuel economy

  • Safer overtaking

Non-Turbocharged Petrol Engines

The normally aspirated petrol engine, whilst not being the easiest of engines to tune, can still benefit from a 10-15% power increase with added torque. Parameters such as the fuel and ignition curves can be fine-tuned to give better power & torque output.

In many cases, ‘aftermarket’ tuning items such as free-flowing exhausts, high flow air filters and re-profiled camshafts can only be fully utilised by the engine once the necessary adjustments have been made within the ECU. Careful recalibration of the correct maps can unlock the potential of your new engine parts. Further power gains may also be available when a higher octane fuel is used, allowing for more ignition timing.

Economy Remap

When we remap a vehicle with the fuel-saving being a priority, we focus on improving low-end torque and widening the power delivery as far as possible.

The torque improvements lead to lower throttle openings at cruising speeds, when fully laden, or on a gradient. It also allows for the use of higher gears at slower speeds, and fewer gear changes overall.

REDUCE YOUR FUEL CONSUMPTION BY UP TO 20%

Tired of excessive fuel costs? If you are looking to reduce your fuel costs whilst doing your bit for the environment, then perhaps it is time that you consider remapping your vehicle.

The Economy-Tune service will provide your vehicle with increased power and torque in the low-to-mid-range of engine revs. The increased power within this rev range ensures that less gear changes are required. With fewer gear changes, your vehicle requires less fuel and substantial fuel cost savings can be made.

The Economy Tune remap has been specially designed to help reduce your MPG. For long-distance travelers or for those with a commercial vehicle, there has never been a better time to get your vehicle remapped.

Our Eco Recalibration software can provide you with the following benefits:

Up to 20% improved fuel economy
Improved Power
Improved Torque
Improved Driveability
Reduced C02 emissions

EGR / DPF delete

EGR Valve on vehicles is designed to  Recalculate Gases from the Exhaust. EGR valves are common to getting clogged up and can cause running issues with the vehicles performance and economy. We can provide software which will stop the vehicles ECU trying to use the EGR Valve and will keep it constantly shut with no error lights on dash. This means the engine will always run on clean fresh air and will run smoother

Diesel Particular Filter is a component that can be very costly if it starts to fail. They decrease MPG while trying to regenerate, and when blocked can cause a lot of issues.

With a DPF Removal you can take benefit of no more regeneration, improved performance, No costly bill for replacing the DPF when it clogs up, and no errors or limp home modes. Recommended for off road use only!

If your DPF warning light or Anti-Pollution warning is on, please do not ignore it. Get professional advice, consider your options carefully and attend to the problem. Leaving it will ultimately cost you much more in additional repair bills and it can be dangerous.

DPF Recalibration – If you have had your DPF core removed, we are able to recalibrate your vehicle’s ECU to stop your engine going into limp-home mode and clear the DPF warning light. You must be aware of the legal implications (as below) of this being carried out and act responsibly.

The EGR valves can become clogged with carbon deposits, causing them to fail or stick. The result of this causes error codes and the vehicle not to run correctly. Our software solution to disable the EGR valve is a simple and effective method of improving the efficiency of your engine.

Removal of the EGR system by Blanking off the exhaust input and reprogramming of the engine management ECU results in lowered engine temperatures, improved throttle response, economy and also can lengthen engine life by reducing oil contamination and carbon deposits.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AND THE MOT TEST

In February 2014 the UK government brought out a visual inspection as part of the annual test for road vehicles. The tester must now look for the presence of a DPF filter section in the exhaust.

A missing DPF, where one was fitted when the vehicle was built, will result in an MoT failure. A vehicle might still pass the MoT visible smoke emissions test, which is primarily intended to identify vehicles that are in a very poor state of repair, whilst emitting illegal and harmful levels of fine exhaust particulate. It is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Regulation 61a(3))1 to use a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emissions standards it was designed to meet.

Removal of a DPF will almost invariably contravene these requirements, making the vehicle illegal for road use. The potential penalties for failing to comply are fines of up to £1,000 for a car or £2,500 for a light goods vehicle.

Start – Stop Delete

Start/Stop technology has been around for some time now, some people love it, others hate it.

For those of you that hate it, we can offer a start-stop disable service.

By changing the coding inside the ECU we can fully deactivate the start/stop system. All hardware can remain in place, it will simply be electronically disabled, giving you back full control of your engine.

DTC’s Removal

Permanently removing fault codes from the engine management system is a very useful process when modifying a vehicle.

Removing components such as swirl flaps, O2 Sensors, MAF, ADblue and other modules for purpose of performance modification or motorsport will often cause a fault code to be stored in the ECU memory along with lights on the dash and limp mode

Speed Limiter

We can add or remove speed limiters on a wide range of vehicles. Whether its companies with a massive fleet of a van or a car that all need to be limited, or just a single individual that wants a speed limiter removed.
