On the road with Key Card Services
Today I decided to share some of my frustrations with you. As you can imagine due to the nature of our business we spend a lot of time driving to get to our customers. Most of our driving consists of getting from one customer to another, one key card at a time and it’s mainly motorway driving. You would think it’s not too bad. Motorways are great, fast and rather safe… well I have a different opinion and will explain in a moment why.
Two days ago I was driving from Cardiff to Taunton to replace a key card for a Renault Megane, the card stopped working and was not starting up the car, the owner was desperate to have the key card replaced as soon as possible so there was no wiggle room with the booking time. The route usually takes me less than 90 minutes, not this time unfortunately. I was a witness of an awful accident which caused few hours delays on the M5.
I don’t want to get into details, let me just say that the conditions on the motorway were terrible, it was raining, it was misty and most of the drivers didn’t seem to care, speeding, overtaking and tailgating. The crash happened when a BMW driver going definitely more than 90MPH realised he reached his exit and tried to get from the third lane to the first…. You can imagine the results, 3 cars were totally destroyed and few others had collided. I just can’t comprehend what this driver was thinking or if he was thinking at all. Fortunately there were no causalities.
Driving for most of the day delivering our key cards allows us to observe the most astonishing behaviours on the road. From speeding beyond belief to driving 40MPH on the third lane on motorway and ignoring flashing lights and cars overtaking on the left. Trust me we have seen it all. My personal favourite are the truck drivers who can’t do more than 60MPH but still trying to overtake another lorry and blocking the lane for 15 minutes. I am not a typical road rage driver but the lorry and HGV drivers really get on my nerves, it seems they don’t care at all about other drivers thinking they have the biggest toy on the road so others should be cautious. Yes I do sound frustrated and bitter but that is the reality, I am sure there are some decent lorry drivers out there but so far they are in minority.
I’m sorry that today’s entry is not very funny and not really about Renault key cards but I just had to get it off my chest. We had a long week driving to Reading, Swansea, Bath, Gloucester, Hereford, Taunton and Bristol to replace key cards for our customers so forgive me please.
As for the news we have decided to franchise and now our services are available in Liverpool, Manchester and surrounding cities. Yes, correct! You can now use our services up North! So if you need a replacement key card for a Renault Scenic in Liverpool or a spare key card for Renault Megane in Manchester give us a call and get the best deal on the market. Prices still start from £90 and will not go up. The gentleman working for us is very dependable and you can be sure you will get the same level of service!
