Description

The Audi Key Fob is a remote control device designed for Audi vehicles. Here’s a description of its features and functionalities:

  • Buttons: An Audi key fob typically includes four buttons: a lock button, an unlock button, a trunk release, and a panic button
  • Keyless Entry: The Audi Advanced Key works by communicating with proximity sensors in each car door and trunk lid. These sensors are matched to a radio pulse generator in the key that activates when you are within approximately five feet of your vehicle. As soon as you begin to use a door handle or your trunk, your Audi will automatically unlock.
  • Battery: All replacement key fobs for Audi vehicles use CR2032 batteries. This uniformity makes finding the related batteries for your remote simple and easy.
  • Battery Replacement: To replace the battery in your Audi Key Fob, you’ll need a flathead screwdriver. Flip open the top part of the fob, use the flathead screwdriver on the back of the fob to separate the top part of the fob. Again, use the flathead to wedge into the seam of the bottom part and twist to remove the back of the fob. The batteries should now be visible. You can use the flathead to remove the batteries. Insert the replacement batteries and reassemble the fob by snapping the pieces back together.
  • Remote Start: While advanced Audi fobs (especially those made in 2021) have a remote engine start, this does not typically work for all Audi key fobs. If you purchase the basic flip key, it cannot make your engine start unless you turn the ignition.
